Don't be scared, we will hold your hand and walk you through the entire chiropractic treatment process. We only do what our patients are comfortable doing. If you are scared of a particular treatment we won't force you to do it.
At JP Chiropractic West Ashley Charleston, our goal is to not only get you out of pain as quickly as possible but to create lasting change. We often spend 45-minutes to an hour with new practice members to learn about their condition, history and find the exact cause of their condition. Our daily lives impact our health drastically so it's important to learn the details.
If you've never been to a chiropractor before or are a bit apprehensive continue to read to better understand our processes, procedures, and phases of chiropractic care.
Your 1st visit- you will be given a quick office tour then proceed to the consult/exam room. This is where the Charleston family chiropractor will get to know you, your health complaint(s) and health goals. The doctor will ask you several questions then proceed to an examination which may include a range of motion, orthopedic testing, neurological testing, muscle testing or otherwise. If necessary, we have a state of the art digital x-ray machine to shoot high-quality images on site. Depending on your history the doctor may need some time to put together a plan of action before beginning adjusting the spine.
Your 2nd visit- We go over all of the findings from the 1st visit, go over insurance information/cost, perform a chiropractic adjustment/physical therapy and provide you a recommended care plan to get you out of pain.
Your 3rd visit+- individualized continued care to get back to wellness and better spinal health.
At JP Chiropractic West Ashley Charleston we are different in our approach than most chiropractic offices. Dr. Pero believes in incorporating physical therapy techniques, teaching at-home remedies and structural care. Structural chiropractic care is like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work correctly. When building a house, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you tried to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a process of healing in order to repair itself correctly and fully.
